We started Even Steven's because we believed South Jersey homeowners deserved better than impersonal service from companies that don't know or care about the neighborhoods they work in. That's still true today.
Even Steven's was founded in 2023 by Steve, a South Jersey native who traded the corporate world for something he actually loves doing. Steve holds a BBA and MBA from Rutgers, but what really got him into landscaping was simpler than that: he genuinely enjoys working outside, and he's good at it.
Steve started the business in Oaklyn and has been growing it steadily ever since, mostly through word of mouth from neighbors who liked the work and told someone about it. That's still how most of our new clients find us, and honestly that's the best kind of referral there is.
When you call Even Steven's, you're talking to Steve. When we show up to your property, Steve is there. There's no middleman, no crew you've never met, no wondering who's going to show up. That level of consistency is something the bigger companies just can't offer, and it's something Steve takes real pride in.
This year Steve is expanding into hardscaping and design, so Even Steven's can handle full outdoor transformations from the ground up. Same values, bigger toolkit.
